THE FATHER'S TIMING

"Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father.  Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world.  But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law" (Gal. 4:1-4, NKJ).

Paul provides the example of an heir in the natural realm of things.  As long as that heir is a child and does not know or understand who he really is, he is not much better than a slave. Why?  As a child, the heir does not know who he really is and has no knowledge to function as the heir that he is.   So his earthly father places the heir under guardians and stewards, or under tudors and governers (KJV), so that he can learn who he really is and can later function as that heir.  Then, Paul turns the example to us in the spiritual realm of things.  Our Heavenly Father wanted us to be His heirs and to learn everything about being His heirs so that we could fully function as His heirs Jesus said that we would have to be born again to see the kingdom of God (John 3:3).  Jesus also said that we would have to be born again to even enter the kingdom of God (John 3:5).  So the Father in the fullness of time sent forth His Son in flesh to dwell amongst us to reveal these things to us (John 1:14).  Jesus fully revealed and declared the Father (John 1:18).

Then, Jesus told His disciples that He would have to lay His life down for them (John 15:13).  Jesus also told His disciples that He would have to leave them but He would send them another teacher and helper – the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth (Jn. 14:26; 15:26;16-13-15).  Jesus told His disciples, "It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority" (Acts 1:7).  The Father has given all authority of life, judgment, and discernment to the Son (John 5:22-27), with the exception of His timing.

On the Day of Pentecost the Holy Spirit came and the church began as He baptized them into the Body of Christ (Acts 1:5; I Cor, 12:13).  About 3000 were added to them as the church began (Acts 2:41).  They received the incorrupible Seed – the Son to live His life of discernment and expression through them.  Christ in them was the dynamo power of God received when the Holy Spirit came upon them (I Cor. 1;24; Acts 1:8).  The Holy Spirit filled their minds with the word of Christ and they spoke as they were filled (Acts 2:4; Rom. 10:17).  In the Father's timing, He will Spirit birth us with His Son placed in us for life and expression to make us His heir (I John 5:11-12; Gal. 2:20).  In the Father's timing, the Holy Spirit will teach, transform, and fill our minds with the revealed truth of Christ in us.  In the Father's timing, we will see, know, choose, and allow the full expression of Christ to flow in and through us to others!
