CHRIST-DAILY
FAITH AND LOVE ARE IN CHRIST "And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus" (I Tim. 1:14). There are Christians attempting to identify and muster up faith, often in their own flesh. However, Paul clearly declares that faith is in Christ Jesus. Certainly every Christian was given the measure of faith, in order to exercise their free will and choice to believe and receive Christ at the Spirit birthing for salvation (Rom. 12:3). We know that "the just shall live by faith" (Rom. 1:17b). Let's look at the first part of that verse, "For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith" (Rom. 1:17a). The real truth of the matter, we don't simply live our entire life out of that measure of saving faith, that we operated out of in the beginning. At the Spirit birthing, we receive a Person of faith – the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the Faithful and True (Rev. 19:11). Jesus Christ is the living Word of God (Rev. 19:13). We were born again by that incorruptible seed of the Word of God birthed into us (I Pet. 1:23). That word is Christ (John 1:1). I need to move from faith to faith in my understanding with a Holy Spirit renewed mind and start living by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me (Gal. 2:20). That is genuine eternal faith there! Paul also tells us that faith works through love (Gal. 5:6). That is a very important thing to know and understand. Love is the manifestation and the expression of the life of Christ in us as us. Genuine agape love or the 100% determined God-kind of love can truly only be expressed through us from the Christ source within us. As Christians we should quit trying to be Christian actors, attempting to replicate or duplicate Christ and His personality. In this new creation shared life, we should instead be making decisions to yield to Christ in us to manifest His love flow through us. When we begin to recognize that the love is truly in Christ and His love-for-others Spirit manifested through us. John said, "God is love and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him" (I John 4:16b). That is clearly focused. God is love, not that He just brings or gives love. Christ in us wants to express His love-for-others as an outworking of His faith-life or faithfulness in us. Are we ready for it to be just Christ, as our love and faith? Are we still prideful enough to believe it is still all about us? The truth is that Christ is the center of all things in the Father's eternal plan. Genuine faith and love are in Christ! V
