CHRIST-DAILY
FORGIVENESS "I write to you, little children, Because your sins are forgiven you for His name's sake" (I John 2:12). Forgiveness first begins in the heart of our Heavenly Father, who knew Satan would sin and fall, and that Adam would sin and fall, even before He created them. Our Father chose us to be in Christ, before the foundation of the world (Eph. 1:4). Through the shed blood of His Son, we have obtained eternal redemption and eternally have His full forgiveness (Eph. 1:7). True forgiveness is founded and comes out of love. God so loved the world that He gave His Son to be our Lord and Savior. The Spirit of Christ is a love-for-others Spirit. The Christ in us flows in that same manner. The reason why we choose to have any unforgiveness toward anyone, is the enemy gets us to focus on ourselves. We get upset at what someone said about us or what someone did against us in some manner. Unforgiveness revolves around a self focus. That is what caused Satan to fall in the beginning. He said, "I'll be as the most high God." There is a lot of pride and arrogance mixed with that perspective and direction. When we begin thinking we are somebody, and that we have rights, and somebody had violated our rights, is when unforgiveness and anger swells in us. Let's just face the facts. That is just pure flesh thinking that operates out of the old mind of the knowledge of good and evil. That knowledge and living brings death to us, and others round about us (Rom. 8:6). We need to see and know that we are just a clay pot or vessel, and that Christ is the only true life flow within us (II Cor. 4:7). We need to get a mind renewal on these things. Do we love unforgiveness of others more than having a love fellowship with our Heavenly Father? Seriously, this is the type of decision that we are making and choosing, when we choose unforgiveness. Walking in the light is walking in illuminating purity that comes though His love-for-others Spirit that flows in and through us for others. This is living in truth. When we have forgiveness and fellowship one with another, His life and blood flow in us cleanses us from all sin (I John 1:7). If we say we are walking in the light, and we hate our brother, we still walking in darkness (I John 2:9). We love God because He first loved us (I John 4:20). Our heavenly Father has so loved us, that he sent the Holy Spirit to rebirth us. His Son in fullness was placed in us at our Spirit birthing with His eternal life, His love-for-others Spirit and His grace and forgiveness towards others to flow through us. We need to let the Holy Spirit fully renew our mind to the mind of Christ within us, so that Christ will flow with all love and forgiveness towards other. Attempting to muster some sort of forgiveness towards others in the natural or carnal mind out of the knowledge of good and evil does last. Letting the Person of Christ within us fully flow in and through us with His eternal love and full forgiveness will last. that is what Paul meant when he declared, "it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me" (Gal. 2:20). Christ now lives His life of full love and full forgiveness in and through me for others! VWritten by Dwight Davis |
