CHRIST-DAILY
ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus" (Gal. 3:28). We all come to Christ from different heritages, cultures, and backgrounds. However, there is certainly level ground at the foot of the cross. When the Holy Spirit births us into Christ and places the Seed of Christ in us, we are now one in Christ Jesus (I Pet. 1:23). We are "all baptized into one body" – the Body of Christ (I Cor. 12:13a). We are just various functioning members of the Body of Christ (I Cor. 12:27). Christ is called the last Adam and became a life-giving Spirit (I Cor. 15:45). Christ has now been given this many-membered body to live and function in this earth. When we were Spiritually birthed we had an exchange of spirits, nature, and character. Everything that was of Adam and Satan in spirit was exchanged for the Person, Spirit, nature, and character of Christ. The Spirit birthed sons of God are no longer tied to the lineage, race, and heritage of Adam. They are tie to the head of the new creation race which is Christ. We are a new creation race of people in Christ Jesus (II Cor. 5:17). This is not something clearly understood in the natural. However, it is something that our Heavenly Father wants us to see and know in the Spirit. Our Father wants the church to know the mystery of Christ living in us as us, and see how He now views us in Christ in this new creation race. Paul said, "we have all been made to drink into one Spirit" (I Cor. 12:13b). Christ is the Spirit that we now have (Rom. 8:9). Paul again declares, "there is one body one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism" (Eph.4:4-5). The one body is the Body of Christ. Christ is the one Spirit who now lives in every member of the new creation race to fulfill the Father's hope of our calling (Eph. 1:18). The Lord is the center and the circumference of genuine faith and the heart of our Spirit rebirthing or baptism into Christ. All unity is in Christ! Unity is not in all of us thinking alike, believing alike, or being cookie-cutter Christians. For us, unity is only in Christ! Christ – the Person of unity must be expressed in and through us as us. It is the unity of His Spirit that we must endeavor to keep in the bond of peace (Eph. 4:4). Unity is not really about man. Unity is about God. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are all persons or personalities of the same God. They are all in Spiritual union with each other. The only union I have in the Spirit, is when Christ is living and expressing Himself in and through me with His love-for-others Spirit to and for the Father and others. Our Father in His eternal purpose is gathering together in one all things in Christ (Eph. 1:10). Our Father has given Christ to be head over all things to the church (Eph. 1:22). Our Father has put Christ in us, and sent the Holy Spirit to renew our minds, so that the fullness of Christ will fill all in all in us (Eph. 1:23). Our 100% identity in the Spirit needs to be with Christ in our shared-life with Him. Truly, we are all one in Christ Jesus! VWritten by Dwight Davis |
