CHRIST-DAILY
OUR ADVOCATE WITH THE FATHER "My little children, these things I write to you, that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous " (I John 2:1). Brothers and sisters, thank God for Jesus Christ. Christ's 100% finished work on the cross has eternally saved us and justified us to our Heavenly Father. What happens when the Christian falls to the flesh and sins? Jesus Christ is ever living in heaven as the Advocate to the Father for every Spirit birthed Christian. The scripture declares, "Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He ever lives to make intercession for them" (Hebr. 7:25). Christ not only fully paid for our sins but is our continuous living Advocate in heaven with the Father, as a continuous declaration that our sins are all forgiven. We are not saved or kept saved by our righteousness or holiness. We are saved and kept saved by the righteousness of Christ. When our Heavenly Father looks on us, He views us through the filter of the shed blood of His precious Son for us. He sees that we are righteous and holy by and through the 100% finished work on the cross. Paul said, "Who is he who condemns?" (Rom. 8:34a). Paul declares that Christ died and paid our sin debt in full. Since the Father is 100% satisfied, and raised Jesus from the dead, and set Him in all authority in heaven to make intercession for us, then who can separate us from the love of God? (Rom. 8:34b-35). Paul lets us know that Christ is our continuous intercessor in Advocate. His presence in all authority in heaven, is a continuous declaration of our righteousness and holiness in Him. This is why the Holy Spirit through faith Spirit-birthed us into Christ and placed Christ in us. The Christ in us also remains an eternal declaration that we are a forgiven Spirit birthed son now a part of the family of God and the Body of Christ. We received an eternal forgiveness when we were saved in our Spirit birthing. When we walk in darkening impurity and sin, in truth we cannot fellowship with the Lord, for He only fellowships in light and purity (I John 1:6-7a). The outworking of the continual cleansing of His blood outworks and cleanses us, as we turn and walk in His light, purity, and truth ( I John 1:7b-8). When we do sin, we confess our sin or agree with God and His word that it is sin, the expression of Christ in us as us, provides His eternal cleansing from all unrighteousness (I John 1:9). There is illuminating power in the light of Christ in us. There is cleansing power from the purity of Christ in us. There is forgiveness power through the truth of Christ in us. Our salvation and fellowship with the Father is all in, by, through Christ in us, and us being in Christ. Christ is our Advocate with the Father in us and in all authority in heaven!
