CHRIST-DAILY
GOD IS FAITHFUL "No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape that you may be able to bear it" (I Cor. 10:13). When temptations come our way, we could easily become discouraged if we don't really understand and know God. Certainly, from all outward appearance there are some who seem to have temptations and trials far beyond natural capability. Paul informs us here that all of mankind has faced the same kinds of temptations, no matter what kind of temptation that could be named. Paul declares the important key to know and remember in the midst of all temptation and trials is that God is faithful. Religion incorrectly presents and describes God as angry and vindictive toward man. In all of His righteousness and holiness, religion presents God sitting in heaven looking angry toward man, and ready to club man on the head every time that man sins or makes a mistake of any kind. True Christianity presents the reality of the nature and character of God. First of all, He is not just God. The true God is a loving Heavenly Father who is sitting in heaven full of love toward man. Our Father so loved man that He sent His only begotten Son to save man (John 3:16). Our Father is 100% satisfied with His Son's finished work on the cross for us, so He raised Jesus from the dead (Eph. 1:20). Our Father has placed Christ in heaven in all authority in heaven and earth to rule in His stead (John 5:22; Matt. 28:18). Christ so loved the Church that He gave Himself for us (Eph. 5:25). We now have a loving Heavenly Father, who wants sons and to fellowship with them. The Father sent the Holy Spirit to reveal His Son to us as our Lord and Savior. The Holy Spirit baptized us into the Body of Christ with a Spirit birthing with Christ – the incorruptible Seed placed within us (I Cor. 12:13; I Pet. 1:23). Christ now lives in us as us. Christ lives in every Spirit birthed believer to intercede through them, while remaining their Advocate in all authority in heaven (Rom. 8:26,34; I John 2:1). John declares, "And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life" (I John 5:20). We need to know Christ in us as us. This is the true God and our relationship with Him. When we are Spiritually birthed, we are a loving son ushered into the loving body of Christ and family of God. God is faithful in His word. God is faithful in His love of us. God is faithful through His son expressing Himself in and through us as us. With a loving and faithful God for us, in us, and flowing through us, we have His character and strength to go through temptations. God is faithful and does not allow us to be tempted above His capability and strength that He has placed within us. God is faithful to show us His direction and His way to walk through the temptation. We can bear all things in His strength, not ours. We can bear all things, in His direction and way, not ours. Our God is faithful! VWritten by Dwight Davis |
