CHRIST-DAILY
AWAKE AND ARISE TO CHRIST "Therefore He says: 'Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light' " (Eph. 5:14). Paul is lovingly exhorting Christians to walk in the light. Paul reminds us, "For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light" (Eph. 5:8). Before the Holy Spirit came to reveal Christ to us, we were walking in sin and impurity with every course of the flesh. Then, the Holy Spirit brought to us the word of Christ (Rom. 10:17), and when we believed we were Spiritually birthed (I Pet. 1:23).. We are now joined with the Lord, and "one Spirit with Him" (I Cor. 6:17). Christ is now our life. The testimony of Paul is a vibrant and true message to every Christian of reality of Christ now being our life. Paul declared, "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live but Christ lives in me" (Gal. 2:20). This is not a testimony for the rare or exceptional Christian life. Paul's declaration demonstrates God's intention for EVERY Christian life. Christ now is living in us as us to manifest and express the fruit of His Spirit (Eph. 5:9; Gal. 5:22-23). The expression of Christ in us will lead us away from fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness and impurity, and with our active agreement with Him, His light within us will expose the darkness (Eph. 5:11). Paul declares that all things are exposed and made manifest by the light (Eph. 5:13a). When Christ is being expressed, His love, joy, and peace with His unselfish love-for-others Spirit is full of purity and light. Clearly all close look-alikes, with covered over selfishness, will be exposed and seen for what they really are. Paul says, "for whatever makes manifest is light" (Eph. 5:13b). Christ is emitting, illuminating purity within us. When Christ is expressed and manifest, there is light and illuminating purity on the scene. Darkness and impurity can only be exposed, revealed, and seen in the presence of light and illuminating purity. This is the tangible evidence and reality of the Christ-life. How do Christians sleep? The majority of Christians still do not know who they are in Christ. Christ has been their life from the instant they were Spiritually rebirthed by the Holy Spirit. The incorruptible Seed was placed in them (I Pet. 1:23). All Christians have all of Christ in Person, Spirit, nature and life. However, religion and misguided teaching of men have kept many Christians from the liberating secret of Christ in them as their very life. Christians get taught how to do various activities, that simply waltz around the true Christ-life that is within them. Why would Paul refer to Christians as dead? (Eph.5:14). Christians that haven't received the Holy Spirit revelation that Christ is their life, still walk around in dead works. They still are involved with their own flesh works. The prison doors have been opened in their life, but they still live in the cells of the prison, and are not told that they can now go out to live in the freedom of the Christ-life. The Holy Spirit is the source for revelation that Christ now lives in us as us. The Holy Spirit will reveal Christ, so Christ can be the light within us, to clearly see everything else in this world. With Holy Spirit revealed light of Christ in us, we can walk correctly, redeem the time, understand the will of the Lord, and be filled with the Spirit in all things (Eph. 5:15-18). Christians need to awake and arise to Christ as their life and their everything! VWritten by Dwight Davis |
